(no subject)

We turned off data service on the phones today to save money. I think I'm going to be cutting back on LJ a bit - the phone allowed me to make regular quick checks that kept my friends list manageable. Probably just communities and syndicated stuff, though.

(Ok, did that. Not sure it actually did any good.)

I wish LJ's filters were more easily configurable. I want to be able to copy all people from one filter to another to make it easier to make a more or less limited filter based on the existing list, or make filters based on people who aren't in some particular other filter so I could, for example, make a Default View and then a list of people not on Default View who I still wanted to track on a regular, but not necessarily instantaneous, basis.

Do any (Linux-available) clients allow more powerful filter management?

In any case, I may be more likely to miss posts than normal... but may actually be more likely to comment, as posts I read from my phone usually only got comments if it was important enough for me to do right then on the small keyboard or if I remembered to do it later.

This also means that the best way to get ahold of me quickly is SMS, which you can do from my userinfo page if you're on my friends list and don't have my number or can't SMS from a phone.

I'm not particularly upset over this. It was certainly nice to have, but it's also nice to feel no urge whatsoever to check my phone for new email at every opportunity.
