Ugh
On the good side, I set up money-tracking in GnuCash, and have recorded all expenses so far for this month.
On the bad side, once all the checks for bills clear, I'll have about $300 left for the month.
On the good side, this doesn't include
koyote's income, so we're unlikely to starve.
Also on the good side, the bills are unlikely to be this high again in the future. I'd gotten way behind on some of them. So this shouldn't be a monthly occurance.
So I guess that, in the end, it's more good than bad.
I hate having to do actual money management. It was so much easier when I could just deposit my paycheck, spend what I wanted, and still end up transfering at least half of it to savings each month.
Update: Ooh...I just found $3000 in an account I forgot I had! Yay! This is staying in that account (It's a time deposit account, and I never actually remember that it exists during the time when I'm allowed to take out money without penalty. Which was kind of the reason I got it in the first place), but it still makes me feel better.
