How in the world are we getting this much smoke from a fire over 150 miles away? You can see it in the air, and it's blocking enough sun that it's a good ten degrees cooler than it was forecast to be.
I suppose it's a normal human reaction, but being around smoke leaves me in a minor fight-or-flight state, which gets uncomfortable after a while. I'm tempted to go take the kids to Borders or something to get in the nice conditioned air before I go nuts. In fact, I'm tempted to go get on the next train to the Bay Area, but that really isn't in the budget right now.
