My co-worker likes to tell me, in detail, what happened on all the TV shows she watched the night before.

If I wanted to know what happened, I'd watch the show myself.

That bugs me, especially when I *have* watched the show and they still want to tell me what happened.

I don't know. It would certainly be annoying if she insisted on giving me a blow-by-blow description of a show that I did watch. But on the other hand, if I'd watched it, we could have an actual conversation about it instead of a one-sided description.

Interestingly enough, this was actually demonstrated today. I had two meetings - one with her and some other people, and one with a different group. We spent about half of the first meeting talking about the same TV shows she'd spent the morning telling me about. I was about ready to scream by the end of the meeting. In the other meeting, we also spent half the time talking about TV, but it was all shows that I watch, so it wasn't nearly as bad.

If my day sounds pretty pathetic, you're right. It was :)
