It's a miracle! I gave blood today!
I've tried at least once a year since I turned 17 and became allowed to donate. They've always rejected me due to low blood iron. Today, I was apparently irony enough for them.
I like the Sacramento blood donation people better than the San Diego people. In Sacramento, they give you your reward (t-shirt, etc.) regardless of whether or not you actually donate - as long as you attempt, they give it to you. It was frustrating in San Diego - you'd go through all the trouble of getting your finger pricked and answering the invasive questionairre, and then they'd reject you for low iron and you wouldn't even get a donut.
It was fun. I almost fainted while sitting in a chair. Then they tipped me back and fed me 7up till I felt better.
Now I have a pretty purple band around my arm. Yay.
I think I'm a bit giddy, too.
