Shortly after I started college, someone posed a hypothetical question to a newsgroup, asking what you would do differently if you could go back to the beginning of college and start over.

As I was less than a quarter into the first year at the time I read this, it was kind of a pointless question. Applying it to high school led to some interesting internal discussions, though. What would I do differently if I could go back to the beginning of High School? Especially if I could keep the knowledge I have now?

Tonight I realized I now know the answer. I'd go COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY INSANE FROM BOREDOM.

I am, in many ways, doing high school over right now. I'm taking math classes that I already took in high school, and I've been away long enough that I can't remember everything off the top of my head, but not long enough that it isn't mind-numbingly boring to repeat. I took enough AP classes during high school that the first several science classes will probably be largely repetition as well. Unfortunately, I can't skip them, since the AP test generally gives credit for the first course for non-science majors, not the more in-depth first course.

I can't see taking more than a few classes within the next two years which aren't either classes I already took in high school, or classes that I should have taken in high school, but didn't.

It's rather depressing, really.

I need to sit down at some point and figure out whether my current plan (get an AA in Computer Science, and then go on and major in something Biology related) is feasible. It's quite possible that the classes I'd need for transferring into a Biology program will be too far off from the CS classes for things to work out well, considering that I'm only going part time. Even a few extra units could add on another year.

Knowing what I actually intend to do might also help.

Must not do that tonight. Must get some sleep so that I can sit through a 3 hour Microsoft licensing presentation tomorrow w/out falling asleep.

If I had a printer, I could print out the info and bring it with me to the MS meeting and work on it then. In fact, I do have a printer it just doesn't work.

I'm babbling. I'll go to sleep now.
