I am annoyed at having to take Tums every night these days (due to pregnancy, not stress, despite the implications of the rest of this entry).

"every night these days". That doesn't really make sense. But that's not surprising, since it's nearly 3 AM.

I had gone to sleep, or something like it, but then koyote came home and I started talking to him about work and got myself all awake again.

So I made myself warm milk, but I've now finished that. I should try to go to sleep again.

I've decided that I'm going to attempt to enlist the support of the manager from the data center and, if necessary, my boss's boss, about my wariness in training my boss and my co-worker to serve as backup for me in any capacity. I can teach them basic commands (which is what my boss wants), but I cannot teach them how/when to apply them appropriately, which means that I'm teaching them just enough to potentially do serious damage. I am almost certain that these managers, who are both experienced system administrators and experienced with managing sysadmins, will agree with me. And if they don't, it'll be easier for me to deal with my boss watching over my shoulder and taking notes as I type "reboot", knowing that training completely unknowledgable people how to perform potentially damaging activities is official policy, and not just my boss's demented worldview.

Yes, I know that since boss ends with an s, the possessive is technically boss'. But this looks wrong to me, and it's my journal, so piss off.

Insomnia. Whee.

Instead of sleeping, I am mentally developing banana cream pie recipes.

This is marginally better than stressing about work, as it does not actually involve stress. However, it is still not sleep.

Do any of you have suggestions on how to thicken runny yogurt to a pie-filling consistancy, preferably without drastically changing the taste or nutritional content? I've considered cornstarch, gelatin, and leaving it to drain in cheesecloth overnight, but I'm not sure if any of these would actually work well.

Today is 24 Week Day!

From what I've read, somewhere around 24 weeks, the baby's chances of survival with life support, were she to be born early, rise dramatically (from near 0% to around 75%).

So Happy 24 Week Day, baby. While I strongly recommend you stay where you are for another 16 weeks or so, it's good to know that you could survive if you were born now.

Discovering a former crush is requited really makes my day more pleasant :)

Especially since I'm at a point in my life where I can just bask in the glow of ego boost and not have to deal with the potential emotional fucked-upedness of an actual relationship.

I just put Motherlove Pregnant Belly Solve on my belly, and now the cat is licking it!

It does smell yummy, but not a smell I'd have thought a cat would appreciate.
