I put a toy in his toy box. He reached in and got the same toy out. Then he did it again. And again. Even with toys he doesn't normally play with, giggling each time he finds it.
Then he got bored and decided to play with his book instead.
He's getting very into books now. He'll even squirm around on the floor to get to them. Unfortunately, he thinks that books are for wrinkling and eating, not for reading, and he's reached the stage where he throws a fit if I take his object of interest away, even if I replace it with something more appropriate. I'd give him junk paper to play with, but I don't want him ingesting it. Luckily, one of his books has crinkly fabric pages, and that seems to work ok.
