Nov. 3rd, 2006 09:46 pmYesterday we had purple cauliflower with dinner. While it was being cooked, it turned the water bright blue, like windex or the mouthwash in the third picture.

silkensteel commented that we could probably use the water to dye something. I said, "Ok, lets!", grabbed one of our numerous plain white onesies, and tossed it in with a bit of salt.

We boiled it for a little while, and then let it soak overnight. It didn't turn out very dark, and I'm not sure how colorfast it is. I'm not sure if it's just not a strong enough dye, or if the fabric wasn't ideal. But it's kind of pretty, and smells like yummy cauliflower :)

(Sorry I didn't get this up earlier. I hope you're in a better mood by now and that this silliness wasn't necessary.)
