Astrid is 3 and a half months now. As of about a week ago she weighed 13lbs (which is a pound lighter than Leif was at her age, but both are right at the 50th percentile for breastfed babies of their respective sexes). She rolled from front to back for the first time today.

Dinner tonight was Garlicy spinach with tilapia and rice. It was good, but not great. I also cooked a bunch of wheat in the rice cooker, thinking it was brown rice. Oops. I guess I'll eat it for breakfast tomorrow or something.

Astrid rolled over for the first time today. She also seemed more alert and social. As of about a week ago she weighed 13lbs (which is a pound lighter than Leif was at her age, but both are right at the 50th percentile for breastfed babies of their respective sexes).

I made faux-babylegs today. For the uninitiated, babylegs are baby legwarmers. They're great for wearing around the house - easier for EC or diaper changes than pants, and they provide some leg protection once they start crawling. They retail for around $10-$12 a pair. I made some by cutting the toes off a pair of women's knee-high socks (not my idea - someone in my due date community posted the instructions). Not quite as polished looking, but free, and a great use for socks I won't wear because they have holes in the toes :)

Some are the same as the kid's journals, some different. More pictures at http://www.flickr.com/photos/harperfamily/.

I won a movie ticket on Blingo today. Whoo! Now that I've actually won something, I have less compunctions about spamming about it... so if you want to win stuff yourself, use this link to register (if you win, the referrer gets the same prize). Then do use that site for searches, and if you happen to do a search at the right time, you win. The search engine is google-based, and usually comes up with decent results. Oftentimes it actually comes up with less noise than google, though I'll go to google for particularly obscure searches. It's slow, though.
