I would like Heroes better if Sylar didn't exist. He freaks me out too much, and there's still plenty of story without him.

I like Sylar because he makes a neat foil for Peter: Peter shares, but Sylar takes outright.

I agree with you, but mainly because Sylar has killed a couple of characters I liked while leaving characters that annoy me alive. I wanted Charlie(Hiro's girlfriend) and the girl with the mind control powers to stick around, but Nikki/Jessica continues to waste our time each week.

Maybe that will make him a good villain in the future, though.
