ocelotI just made Astrid's cake. This orange-cornmeal cake with flax/almond/cornmeal substituted for the all-purpose flour, a teaspoonfull of vanilla, chocolate chips added, and none of the sugar topping (I'll do my favorite chocolate frosting later). We'll see how it turns out!
The people in my online classes continue to frustrate me. Yes, 100% of viruses found in hospitals are antibiotic-resistant. Nothing strange about that (that one is probably a brain fart. The textbook actually makes the same mistake in one place). No, those darn foreigners are not bringing cases of smallpox into the US, and no, your childhood vaccine from 30+ years ago isn't going to protect you much if there was a smallpox outbreak now.
We had a sudden-death dosage calculation test today. If you don't get at least 70%, you fail the class. So that's a little nerve-wracking. Very simple math, but you have to know which formula to use and not make stupid mistakes. I'm not worried about most of the math, but I'm a bit worried I somehow managed to screw something up somehow. So, I'm a little nervous about it, but I can't complain about the grading standards. I mean, those stupid mistakes or wrong formulas could kill someone.
I adore Astrid's skirt (from the previous post). It reminds me the figure skating skirts I always coveted as a child.

I need to write about the trip to San Diego and my brother's wedding. This past week has just been a little overwhelming. I feel like I usually do about 3/4 of the way through the semester when all the teachers suddenly pile on the work. Now that the trip is over with and the applications are almost done, hopefully that will pass.
