There's currently an article on Slashdot - Advice you would give to your 12-year-old self?
Here's mine:
1. You really are likeable, and you WILL find friendship and love, even if it doesn't feel like it.
2. Follow the advice of people you like and trust. The people you don't like don't know what you're capable of.
3. Find your interests and follow them. Start looking at alternatives to normal high school early. Don't worry about trying to follow the schedule the counselors set - it isn't right for you, and you'll just end up beating your head against a brick wall.
4. Really try to stick with karate. You're not doing as awfully as you feel, and you'll regret it every time you stop.
5. Don't try to do one-night stands unless you're 100% sure that everyone involved is clear on the one-night part.
