M* Clients

I'm looking for a good unix command line MUD/MOO/MWhatever client. It needs to handle local editing (or uploading text from a file), ANSI color, and have reasonable scrollback capabilities. Anything else is not terribly important.
Currently I'm using an emacs script. It works, for the most part, except it doesn't support ANSI. Ordinarily I don't care in the least about this, but I realized today that it really does come in handy when role playing. Makes it much easier to tell what's going on when you can see at a glance which army people are in.
Then again, just becoming more familiar with the people would probably help, too.
