We are all still alive. Baby says "kicksquirmkick" to all of you.

Things are looking pretty good right now. We got a car (1999 VW Jetta), and have found an apartment. It was about the only apartment available immediately, but amazingly, it's exactly what we need. It's in a great location - walking distance from shopping, a little further to the library, near a friend's apartment and several hospitals, and about a 5 minute commute from Christof's office. It's also on the ground floor, so the cats can go outside. This is good - they're going a little stir-crazy here. Thankfully, they seem to have grown out of their "pee everywhere when stir-crazy" phase. Or perhaps the automated litterbox helps.

The apartment is smaller than we're used to. This isn't a bad thing - we can use an excuse to de-clutter. It will make moving in an interesting experience, though. Ideally, we'll be able to figure out which boxes we need for the immediate future, and move everything else directly into storage (or leave it where it is). I don't know if that will be possible, though.

Assuming everything goes right, we'll be moving there this weekend or early next week.

Baby and I have a doctor's appointment next Monday. Next time I move this late in pregnancy, remind me to find a doctor before I move. I figured that it wouldn't be a problem finding one once I got out here, and that there were more pressing things to take care of before the move. Once I got here, I discovered that no one had any appointments available until the 26th (what is it about that particular day?), and waiting over a month between appointments at this stage didn't seem like a great idea.

This doctor was recommended by the local birthing center (who didn't have any appointments until the 26th, so I gave up on them). She's one of their backup doctors, so she shares their philosophies on birth. Which is good. I was afraid I'd end up with whatever random epidural-obsessed doctor happened to have an appointment available first.

Baby is 34 weeks now, so we're getting pretty close. She's kicking and squirming a lot still. She's also squishing my lungs, stomach, etc. which is rather annoying. Especially with the humidity around here. But for the most part, we're doing ok.
