Leif distinctly signed "more" today, asking for another maraschino cherry off of my ice cream.

He may have done it before, but this was the first time I noticed him distinctly doing the sign, rather than just waving his hands.

He's been signing "nurse" occasionally for several months, but again, it's hard to tell if he's intentionally doing it, or just opening and closing his hand because he can. He definitely understands what the sign means when I make it, though.

I finished my second baby carrier yesterday (third, counting the muslin mock-up, which actually ended up being an useful backup carrier). This one took forever to make, and the sewing is crap. We got another thrift store sewing machine, and didn't quite figure out how to thread and adjust it properly until the end, so it has a lot of loops and tangles. The topstitching is in two different shades of off-white because I ran out of one about 2/3 of the way through, but by that point was too fed up with the thing to bother waiting until we could get to a fabric store to get more of the correct color.

The first carrier I could have sold. This one looks decent from the front, but the backside is terrible. I don't think I've ever sewn anything quite this terrible.

Overall, this design is too complex. It took me several weeks of off and on work, rather than one day.

It does seem more comfortable, though.

I don't know if this sewing machine is going to cut it. Now that I've figured it out a little better, perhaps. I'll have to try some other stuff and see how it goes.
