We've had serious trouble with mail and shipping since we've moved here.

First, [livejournal.com profile] silkensteel mailed some stuff up to us, and the post office decided it was going to hang on to one of the boxes and have us pick it up in person. So [livejournal.com profile] koyote went to pick it up, and got Kent The Mean Mail Guy (who he has had problems with before) who refused to give it to him unless he showed proof of address, as his name was not the name on the slip. So I went back, with the slip and proof of address, and got the box from a different person without even having to show ID.

The kicker? The package itself was addressed to [livejournal.com profile] koyote. I'm not sure why my name was on the slip at all - perhaps because it was the first one listed on the mailbox.

Then we had the UPS package that they claimed was going to be delivered that day, really for sure, even though tracking claimed it was still in Illinois. We stuck around at home all day, and it wasn't delivered, so we had to stick around most of Monday, too.

The latest - I had an order that was shipped in two boxes via FedEx. One arrived today. Checking tracking, it says that both packages were delivered. Specifically, it claims that the one that arrived was given to the customer (which it wasn't - it was left on the porch) and that the one that didn't arrive was left on the porch.

Three possibilities - 1. The package is still sitting on the truck. 2. He left it at either XXX A St. or XXX ASDF Circle. We live at XXXA ASDF Circle (why do I bother obscuring the address? Anyone with half an ounce of detective skills could track us down if they felt like it anyways). 3. He looked in the window, saw my boob (Leif was nursing at the time), was traumatized and decided not to come back with the second package.

In any case, I'm waiting for a phone call back once they figure out where the package has gotten to.

We have another mail issue as well, but this one is primarily my fault. I transposed two of the numbers in the address and didn't catch it before placing the order, so the package was returned as undeliverable. I need to email the company again, because I haven't heard that they've received it back yet. They've said they'll send it again when they receive it, but we'll have to pay shipping, which is understandable and doesn't bug me too much as shipping was free in the first place, and shouldn't be more than a few dollars.
