Feb. 11th, 2007 07:23 pmIf you're in the Sacramento area, we may be on TV (Fox40 News) tonight.
Freddie Oakley is a straight, married, evangelical Christian, and the Yolo County clerk in charge of marriages. She's become more and more uncomfortable with the denying marriage licenses to same-sex couples, and has started giving out her own certificate in protest - a Certificate of Inequality.
I'm unclear whether she is a regular attendant of the Davis First Baptist Church, or whether she was simply speaking there today, but in any case, the ultra-conservatives were out there to protest the Baptists for welcoming her. Go figure.
In any case, the UU church we attend is just down the block, so after our service we all went over there to counter-protest, and the news cameras were there.
Look for the cute baby in the sling.

Today was a beautiful day. Even my Sunday dose of early morning getting yelled at while swinging a sword around barefoot in a field went pretty well, especially since someone else was there to get most of the yelling.
Between illness and the weather, we've been cooped up inside for most of a week and a half. We went to Ikea twice (yay indoor playground), and Leif played in the yard on the sunny days, but that's about it. Now all of us except
koyote are all over it except for a touch of cough and runny nose, and the weather should be nice tomorrow.
On the downside,
koyote probably has pneumonia, and is debating a hospital trip. Which is a pretty big downside.
ETA: He did go (hopefully just for drugs). I'm stuck at home because babies and hospitals don't mix.

My knees are bugging me. This would worry me, except that the same thing happened at about this point with Leif, and they got better then after a short while
