Mar. 18th, 2006 12:23 pmLeif's hair has been getting soooo tangled lately. It's awful - he's had these nasty rats nests sticking up all over the back of his head, and won't let me touch his hair, let alone try to brush it out.
He went in the bath just now, so I slathered his hair up with conditioner and started trying to comb the tangles out. Amazingly, it worked really well. He just sat there with the water running on him and only complained a few times.
I'm wondering if being in the water (especially with it running directly on him) is enough stimulation that the pain from hair pulling doesn't bug him as much. That's part of the theory behind water birth, so it makes sense.
I'm so happy - he won't look neglected anymore!
koyote just wanted to give him dreads, but I vetoed that. Purposeful dreads are one thing, but messy hair dreads... no.
I'm not sure what the problem is. I've been getting a lot of tangles too, lately. That's why I switched to conditioner washes instead of plain baking soda and apple cider vinegar (which I still do once a week) - we were both getting too many tangles. It worked very well for a few months, but now it's happening again. I don't particularly want to go back to shampoo, but it was so fuss-free in comparison. More effort and money overall, but it didn't tend to just randomly stop working.
