Pictures of Leif up through August are posted at http://www.ansible.org/~jess/leif/. "National Zoo" is the first new set of pictures.

We're currently living on a boat in Marina Del Rey (near Los Angeles), but we're working on moving to Oregon. Yes, this is safe for Leif - he's not allowed out of the cabin without a life jacket, and he doesn't even get to do that very often.

Leif has learned to climb ladders and fences, and throws cigarette butts in the trash. He also says "da" (dad, dog, duck, that), "na" (banana, nurse, nose), and "ma" (mom), and "hi". He throws his arms around our necks and gives us big hugs and kisses.

Sorry for the short update, but I'm trying to hurry before Leif gets upset!

So I'd try to call you too but like an idiot I think I deleted your email! We think we finally found a time we can make, if you can too, and if you like Heather can give you guys a ride, she doesn't have a carseat but she does almost live in M d R :)

I have my cousin's baby shower to go to tomorrow, but after Nov. 5th should work. It looks like we're most likely going to be sticking around here after all, so time isn't short.

And I'll try to check email a little more often :)
