Astrid seems to have decided she's happier in a more upright sling carry, rather than the newborn carry. I think this is the same age that Leif decided that.

Now I really need my carrier out of storage - the upright carry is a lot less comfortable for me with the current sling. Either that, or see if I can throw together a quick new one out of cloth we have laying around. The last one I made took 4 months, but I think I can do one a lot quicker if I make it less complex. I don't think we have proper materials in the house to make a really good one, but one that will hold up well enough for a few months should be possible.

http://www.wallypop.net/slinghowto.htm has a few ways to arrange different types of slings... My friend uses a few of the wrap sling ways with just a strip of cloth.

Unfortunately (since I do want to try a wrap at some point) we don't have enough fabric of the right type. I could probably make something by cutting some in half, sewing it together, and hemming, but at that point it's not that much more work just to make one of the type I made before.
