Nov. 27th, 2006 08:33 pmI went to my first aikido class in many months today. Am tired now. I stayed pretty active through pregnancy up until 36 weeks (when we decided it wasn't a good idea for me to keep bike riding, and walking was too annoying to do much of), but that was 2.5 months ago, and I haven't done much more than walking a couple miles every few days since.
Class went fine. It didn't feel like I'd been gone for months - I occasionally forgot something, but most of it came back pretty quickly. None of the students who had been there before were there today. I know they're still in the class (well, the serious ones anyways) - it's probably just because it's the day after Thanksgiving weekend and all. Consequently, I ended up being the senior student, which was a little disconcerting.
Sensei was, thankfully, having a relatively nice day. Or maybe he's mellowed a little. Or maybe he was just taking it easy on me. Who knows.
Astrid did fine with
koyote. Despite never having had a bottle before, she sucked down the 3 ounces I managed to pump, went to sleep, and was out for a good long time. Leif slept, too. He napped from about 5-7. I hate when he does that, but he still seems sleepy, so maybe tonight won't be too awful.
I still miss my old karate dojo.
A car ran into our fence and knocked down a section early this morning, causing much excitement.
This room looks like a car hit it, too. It's hard to keep things clean between a preschooler who likes to throw things all over, a baby who doesn't like being put down, and the endless flood of laundry.
This soup is really good. My sense of taste is seriously enhanced after exercise. It's been a while since I've experienced that :)

Date: 2006-11-28 07:07 am (UTC)senior student! nice.
and astrid slept pretty much throough your class aside from eating and a few renditions of "One Tin Soldier" (because all I know to sing is irish drinking songs, soldiers' songs, sea chanties, and a few old 60s protest songs.)
