Yesterday morning there was a definite chill in the air. Not because it means the end of summer (though that is nice), but because it's about time to switch out the kids' clothing.

We're at a bit of a tough stage now. The weather is much nicer overall, but it's chilly in the mornings and evenings, and up into the 80's during the day. So dressing for the day has to involve layers, and the wardrobe needs are more complex. I can't quite get rid of the summer stuff yet, but don't have room to get out all the cool weather stuff.

Beeb has so much clothing. And my cousin is offering more, and it's all so cute! And Hanna Anderson! So hard to say no...

Yesterday, a car next door to us got towed. Leif didn't want to watch because he felt sad that someone's car was getting towed. We eventually decided it was because the car was broken and needed to be fixed, rather than because it was blocking the driveway.

Cutting out and bits of machine sewing are my main bottlenecks with the shoesmaking. And coming up with designs. The hand sewing is the most time consuming part, but easy to get done (during class, etc.).

Along with the shift in the seasons, my ride to and from class is getting windier. I'd say it took me at least 5 minutes longer than normal today, which was ok, as I left a touch earlier than normal. I can't say I'm happy about this, though it means better exercise. I was adjusting to the ride and all. Can't have that.

Along the way, there are some horse farms with lots of cute foals, including this gorgeous brown and white one. It almost makes me a horse person.

Along another stretch, there are these fuzzy little caterpillars that scoot across the path at a startling pace. I just want to pick them up and play with them, but I'm pretty sure the fuzzy ones are mildly poisonous to the touch.

There's a tree of pomegranates in the parking lot. They look a few weeks from ripe.

There were 50 people in my physiology class. Now, after we received the first test results and the last day to drop without a Withdrawal notation passed, there are 35.

I'm having the same wardrobe issues. Then again, my daughter shot up another several inches over the summer, so I have to buy her a whole new winter wardrobe anyway. Arg!

Foals are awesome. I like looking at other people's horses. Can't say I have much of a desire to smell them all the time though.

I don't think I ever mentioned how much I adore your ocelot icon. They are my favorite wild kitty. May I ask why you selected that screenname?

I'd been using the name ocelot for several years. When I signed up for LJ, someone had already taken it (two weeks before I signed up! I was kicking myself over that one, as I'd been reading occasionally for a few months before then), so I chose the real ocelot as a temporary placeholder. I still go through phases of wanting to change it, but can never think of anything I truly love, so it stays.
