Mmm. I want to start making my own so I can make it low sugar. It sucks that every time someone decides to make "healthier" ice cream they reduce the fat and hardly reduce the sweetening at all, and it's still corn syrup. :( Or else it's sugar free and full of nasty fake stuff and still low fat too.
I love ours. We occasionally buy Rice Dream or something, and I'm not entirely sure why (except laziness), because it's no better than stuff we make.
This was frozen berries, frozen pears, two bananas, some cashews, some coconut milk, an egg, a bit of vanilla, and a spoonful of honey (which probably wasn't really needed).
http://therealocelot.livejournal.com/270788.html is the avocado recipe. And yes, it works absolutely beautifully for ice cream - the texture is amazing. I like to throw in a little chili powder and cinnamon and make it mexican chocolate ice cream.
