Me: Gum?
A: I want gum!
Me: Sorry, no gum. You can have food, though.
A: I want gum!
All of this said with a gleeful, mischevious smile and no real upset over not getting gum.
We have some variation on this conversation multiple times a day.
(No, she has never had gum as far as I know. I've certainly never given her any!)
