Target is having a truly amazing sale on the Britax Marathon car seats - $60 each ($280 is their normal price). These are apparently the old style seats, which work for up to 33lbs rear-facing instead of 35lbs.

Just posted in my due date community:

A friend of mine just posted this: "i just got off the phone with target. the price was an error. the people in charge are discussing the situation now and no decision has yet been reached about whether or not they will honor the price. we should all get an email in the next couple days."

So I guess we'll see what happens.

Great catch -- we got the Britax Roundabout, and it seems like a nice solid seat. Unfortunately, even though it was advertised for 5 lbs. and up, the straps are built so that the kid has to be around 10 lbs. to fit properly in the seat. Alas. We ended up with a lovely baby bucket that Annie will get to use as soon as she graduates from the car bed.

Yep. We thought we'd be smart and got the roundabout with Leif, and it didn't work well at all when he was little. With Astrid we went with the baby bucket first.
