We had another appointment today, this time with a midwife.

She's measuring on the small side of normal, though this may have more to do with my torso being long than her actual size. This is a good sign from the hoping for a smaller than 10+ pound baby standpoint.

Her heartbeat is fine.

I finally got a chance to examine the label of the urine test strip bottle, which explains the test results. My results mean there was no protein or glucose detected, which is good (those would be signs of pre-eclampsia and diabetes).

They made me take the glucose tolerance test (testing for gestational diabetes). I figured that wouldn't be done till next month, since it's usually done around 28 weeks from what I understand (I'm 23 weeks along now). It was less than fun. I had to drink a bottle of flat coke tasting stuff, sit for an hour, and then give blood. The blood draw hurt significantly more than usual (my arm is still sore), and I think it gave me a hypoglycemic attack later at the grocery store. I hope this is normal (or I'm simply being a hypochondriac), and not an indication that I actually do have gestational diabetes. Anyways, I'm grumpy at them.

I don't know when I'll find out the results of that. Probably a month from now, at my next appointment.

Now we need to find and sign up for a childbirth class.

Nope. They probably won't do another unless they suspect problems, and I'll definetly say something if that is the case.

"She" is just preferable to "it" and less awkward than constantly repeating "the baby".
