My course of study at Sacramento City College is ephemeral, changing on a whim.

I was pretty much set on a Biology degree, as I would earn that in the process of completing the lower level requirements to transfer to Human Development at UC Davis. I figured I was finally set, and wouldn't change again.

Then, the decision about the move came up. Biology suddenly had a lot less relevance (none, in fact, as my planned course of action had virtually no relevance to anything I could transfer to at Humboldt). I dropped the Chemistry class I was taking, and decided to take a human sexuality and a short story class taught by the same person who taught Women in Film last spring instead.

This leaves me (assuming my Women's History classes transfer from Davis), five classes away from a dual degree in English and Women's Studies. English 27 (Women in Literature) overlaps between the two, and then I'd need two further classes in both categories. One of the necessary English classes is available online, so I might even be able to take it after the move.

Of course, this all depends on English 27, which hasn't been offered in the past several semesters, so who knows if it will actually work. If not, I'll probably just do Women's Studies, and then finish up English and whatever else at College of the Redwoods.

In other school-related news, I've inquired with Redwoods to see if the AmeriCorp teacher training program will be offered again next year. I hope it is. It sounds exceptionally useful even if I don't technically need the credits at that point.

Ooh... It looks like I can also get a Social Sciences A.A. based on what I've already taken or need to take. (Heck, including the classes that transfer from Davis, I should have enough for this already)

Dunno if you've experienced the wonder that is Eileen Sarasohn at SCC yet, but if you haven't, cram in any history courses you can with her. I swear, the woman taught me how to think about history entirely differently. She's one of the best college teachers I've ever had in years of college at several different schools.

I just checked the schedule, and it looks like she's still teaching. If it fits into my schedule next semester, I'll be sure to take a class from her. Thanks!
