sickness, cooking eggs, a k5 cookbook.
I got the stomach flu Thursday evening. It's quite the sickest I've been in a while. I'm feeling quite a bit better, now, though my stomach still doesn't like me eating much of anything.
This led to me cooking a poached egg on toast for dinner. It's simple enough - throw about two inches of water in a saucepan, along with a pinch of salt and a spoonful of vinegar (the taste isn't noticable), let it boil, turn the heat down a bit, and dump in a raw egg or two. Let it sit for about 5 minutes. Then put it on toast, and eat.
It didn't turn out quite as well as I would have liked. Not runny enough. This could have been because the heat was too high - it was boiling a bit while the eggs were in the water. Or they could have been left in too long. 4 minutes would probably do it for 2 eggs.
I'm hoping to cook more once I move into the new house, both to save money and to eat healthier. Hopefully, whoever I end up living with will allow me to subject them to my culinary skills or lack thereof. I can follow a recipe alright, but cooking isn't really something I enjoy, and cooking for one person is a pain.
The various recipes that have been on here have given me the idea of putting together a k5 cookbook. I'm not sure how this would best be implemented. Would anyone else be interested in this?
