My god, bubba.kuro5hin.org is bringing out the lamest in me. Or perhaps it's the combination of bubba and extreme boredom. In any case, I really need to find a better place to focus my energies than that.
Like my self-evaluation that was due a month ago, and which my boss is probably going to bug me about tomorrow. I'm suffering the same problem with it as I've been suffering with papers for school.
Not that I'm sure what that problem is. Something akin to writer's block.
Yes, I know what I do at work. But if you ask me what I've done over the past year, my mind draws a blank.
Perhaps writing things here would help...
Over the past year, I've dealt with more political BS than I would have thought possible.
I've set up a file server that ended up never being used.
I've refrained from killing the idiot lusers who email us.
I've refrained from killing idiot co-workers.
I've become obsessed with no less than three co-workers.
I've admined a samba server which no one can connect to due either to microsoft's fucked up networking or my incompetence.
Fuck, I can write all sorts of stupid shit like that, but when it comes to real stuff, I freeze.
I've also developed much more of a pottymouth over the past year.
Ok..seriously now...
I implemented a system to improve our response time and reliability on email inquiries.
I kept the jukebox server running, and served as backup for the web server.
I was instrumental in transitioning both the jukebox and website to new servers.
I answered a metric ton of email.
I assisted in distribution of software to the campus community.
I improved my skills through a variety of classes in both technical and non-technical subjects.
I served on the Internet tools committee.
Ok. That's enough serious stuff. I must sleep now. After I find out what that crashing sound in the kitchen was...
(it was my cat, knocking the frying pan off the stove. she will burn herself one of these days :/)
