Dec. 15th, 2006 10:22 amI'm at Ikea where, probably because of the Northern European origins, they put milk in everything in some form or another.
I kept asking whether such and such had dairy in it, and everything did. I could see them thinking "Oh, one of them", and I don't really blame them. I felt similar up until about a month and a half ago.
I asked about the oatmeal. They said yes, and then offered me a bowl. They told me the ham and cheese sandwich didn't have dairy. Uh yeah. Cheese. And butter, too.
I ended up with the open faced shrimp sandwich, which I don't really like, but I was hungry and it should have been dairy free. I didn't ask though, and I thought to look halfway through and the bread was buttered. Oh well, if I have a screaming baby tonight, at least I know why.
At least the gingersnaps are non-dairy, yummy, and free. Can't lose them all :)
