There is currently an ad on the Sacramento Craigslist for a bunch of toys. Second item on the list is "Jump rope -- needs batteries. No idea if it works."

It's a freaking jump rope!

I remeber seeing those - you hold the handles and the rope does turn it self. Some kind of gears in the handles.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I own a jumprope that requires batteries. It counts how many jumps you do and if you put in your weight it tells you how many calories you burned.



I require copious motivation to exercise and I am a numbers person...

I have jump rope that takes batteries. it has lights in the rope that flash when you spin it. I found it at the dollar store and took off one handle and put a bull roarer on the end of it. the kids at the lake love spinning it to make noise and see the lights at night.
