Something might be happening. Or it might not. Who knows.
I'm having digestive issues of the loose sort. In many women, this is a sign that labor is imminent. In me? Who knows. This tends to be a general pregnancy symptom for me (which is the opposite of most women).
Today we were lame and went to Ikea for exercise. We're having a heat wave (not an awful terrible one, but highs in the high 80's/low 90's, which is uncomfortable enough at this point), and I've been sitting around inside under the fan most of the time because the idea of going for a walk (pretty much the only exercise I can do without a lot of hassle) just isn't appealing in the heat. After an hour or so of walking around most of the time, I was having the first (very mildly) painful contractions I've experienced. And I started getting pissed off at the smell of hot dogs.
Came home and drank 32 oz of water mixed with about a glass of wine (yes, this is acceptable at this point in pregnancy), passed out for 3 hours, and haven't had a reoccurance since.
Baby was pretty clearly ROT yesterday (lying with it's back against my right side). This is not really an ideal position, since these babies are likely to go posterior. I think it's moved now, but I'm not quite sure where. Possibly posterior. Oh, the joy. Very clearly heads down, though, which is good, because I had a day or so of wondering if it might have flipped, and that's pretty much an automatic c-section if you can't get baby to flip back.
(I feel weird calling baby it, but I called Leif she most of last pregnancy, and don't feel like doing that this time, and don't feel like using zie or whatnot, either. So "it" it is.)
One of the neat body adjustments of pregnancy is that ligaments get looser in order to allow the pelvis to expand and all that. This seems to be happening to a greater extent than before (or perhaps I'm just noticing it more after having sat around doing next to nothing for a few days). Ok, so I can understand and be accepting of the pain in my pubic joint, hips, butt, and so forth. But my knee? And the bottom of my foot? They're not involved in this baby releasing process. They should leave me alone.
The ONLY comfortable place to sit is my exercise ball. Except now it's kind of hurting my hips.
I'm having a backache now, which is not normally a problem for me. Not a back labor type backache, though. Again, don't know if it means anything, or just a side effect of our trip to the Ikea gym.
I've been feeling the urge to eat lots. I'm not hungry at all - I just feel like eating all the food on the planet. Especially the high carb stuff.
My cervix is still very posterior, which is a sign that I'm not in early labor.
I'm grumpy, but no more so than usual the past month or so.
What does this all mean? Absolutely nothing! Except that I'm really uncomfortable! Yay!
Well, it means I'll most likely have a baby within the next month or so. But we already knew that much.

Date: 2006-09-28 06:54 am (UTC)I'm glad you liked the stuff! Don't worry about sending more, the crib bumper is perfect! Basil bumped his head into the crib bars again today and the bumper stopped him from actually hurting himself! We are always interested in handmedowns, at least if your new baby is a girl so you can't use stuff! We now have enough things to last until he's one, so our next goal is looking for clothes that are 18months+ (he currently fits clothes that are 9-18mos) but obviously that's not urgent :)
Please keep updating when you can, we are praying for you guys

Date: 2006-09-28 07:09 am (UTC)I'll probably pass on 18m+ stuff regardless of what the baby ends up being - better to have it in use than sitting around in storage, and you'll be done with it before I need it again. Though I'm not sure anything we have is quite high quality enough to hold up through three kids (especially since we tended to have Leif in stuff from the moment it even began to resemble fitting until their was no way it would work anymore).
