The kids slept fine last night. Well, Astrid kept waking up crying, but she has two teeth visible, so I expect that was it.

I'm feeling down about school because I just don't know if I can get into the class I need, and I'm not sure it's worth it to go to school if I can't do that class.

On the other hand, I'm feeling positive about the doula thing, because a friend in the program mentioned today that she had ran into someone who got kicked out of it, and I haven't been kicked out (and was, in fact, welcomed back), so I can't be too horrible! So I guess I'll get the certification packet and put my name up on bellywomen.net and see if I can get myself certified, because that would help financially.

EVen if you can't get the class you need, continuous enrollment means you won't get hit with a whole new array of graduation requirements. You'll want a BSN eventually, and having an interruption of any length can mean new reqs for the Bachelor's degree. Besides, taking a break can make it harder to get back into the routine. If you can't get the class you need, take a class you'll enjoy. It will come in handy somewhere down the line, I guarantee it. (Took me 30 years to get the Bachelor's because of breaks in my enrollment, so I know what I'm talking about.)

In my case, this isn't true, as I'm not doing a degree program (ASN or BSN) yet - I'm just fulfilling the prerequisites I need to apply for a program. And we can't afford for me to just take classes that aren't actually helping me make progress.

The part where it gets fuzzy is that I have about a semester's worth of classes that I'd like to take over, both to get better grades and so I can leave my horrible UC Davis transcript out of the picture entirely when applying. So it may be worth it to add on a semester for that, and hope I have things a little more figured out next semester.

And that's the simplified version of things :)

God talks to me thru you! I was just saying to hubby that Basil has been waking up crying and I don't know why and almost simultaneously I'm reading the second sentence of your post! So I think Basil is teething too. Well, he's always teething, he only has 8.5 teeth so far so he is behind all the other kids.

I'm sorry about the class, I'm praying it will still happen.

Thanks for the bellywomen link, do they have people down here? I have collected some people to call but most seem to just be post=partum doulas ???!?? and most are like 400-500 for the labor time. I'm on board with paying but that's a lot for us :(

Did the stomach flu manifest?

Teething is such fun, isn't it?

Bellywomen.net is nationwide, and I saw a bunch of LA area when I was poking through today looking for ideas. It's probably the best place to find doulas willing to work for cheap/free, though many of those are looking for births for certification (like me) and may not be very experienced.

I don't know about the stomach flu. I'm feeling achy (head/body) and a bit more tired than normal, but ok beyond that. The kids seem ok. [livejournal.com profile] koyote threw up this morning and is feeling the worst of all of us so I'm pretty sure it isn't just my imagination.
