Mar. 6th, 2008 08:18 pmWe dissected cats today in Anatomy, which I found somewhat less than wonderful. I think I would have had an easier time with humans. At least they donated their bodies to science. Thankfully, another person at my table was all "Let me at it!", so I didn't really do much, which was good since I still wasn't feeling great. She named our cat Dog, because she'd always wanted a cat named Dog. And this one didn't even need to be fed or have the litterbox changed!
It's weird to hear comments like "Can I take your lungs out? You won't need them." I really should have written them all down, because it was awfully amusing, and now I can't remember. One table kept going on about the easter egg the teacher had hidden in theirs, which turned out to be one of the kidneys, covered in blue and red latex because of the veins. They would have known that if they'd bothered to look at the book.
Sometime between lab and lecture I managed to get enough cruft out of my ear that I started to feel human again. I can hear more normally, taste somewhat better, and my face is less sore in general. Hopefully it will continue improving.
Just before I had to leave for class, Leif ran out of the bedroom, gleefully shouting, "I just threw up red!" Not really what you want to hear. In any case, it was quickly determined to be salami, and quite possibly spit out, rather than spit up. But that made me 10 minutes late or so. While I was at class, he rode his bike on his own for 10 feet or so today. Yay!
And that's my gross day.
