(Sorry, I'm feeling verbose tonight)
I lit some candles tonight. This is something I very rarely do, but I was gifted with a lighter this weekend, so I figured I might as well.
Cut, because I don't think anyone really wants to read my random babbling about candles.
If I'm going to do this often, I'll need to get a tall candle to use to light the others. The lighter simply won't work in some situations.
One candle is a tall, in a glass jar which I picked up at the grocery store about 2 years ago (why did I buy a candle when I never actually light them? I'm not sure). I believe it's a Catholic prayer candle. I may just let this one burn, as I have no idea how I'll get it re-lit without either a long kitchen match or a tall, thing candle - I could barely get it lit with the lighter now when it's brand new.
The second candle is one my brother gave me for Christmas. It's purple, and smells like something I can't quite place. Of the three, it was by far the easiest to light, though it did drip hot wax all over my finger (hmmm...I believe this may prompt a shift to the RENT soundtrack).
The third is a money candle (it apparently has money inside it, which is revealed as it melts) which I was given for Christmas many many (well, maybe 3) years ago. It was near impossible to light, and the flame is still incredibly faint - it looks like a blue LED floating in the air, rather than an actually flame. I'm not breathing within 5 feet or so of it, as it's already gone out once already due to that.
I have another candle - one of those weird gel candles, with little wax fruit shapes in it. I haven't lit it yet, and don't think I will tonight.
I think I'll make gel candles for Christmas. I made beeswax candles a few years ago, but gel candles are just neat (and, as far as I can tell, reasonably easy to make).
People are strange. I'd say more, but I don't know who is reading this.
I should be getting work done, but I don't feel like ending my vacation quite yet. 4 days of relaxation and non-boredom. What a luxury.
