Today I was looking at the list of popular interests and the thought crossed my mind, "How long would it take to get a random phrase added to the popular interest list?"

So I added the phrase "lemurs in the rain" to my interest list. Now I just need another 2133 people to add it to their's!

To participate:

Alternativly, you can go to http://www.livejournal.com/editinfo.bml and manually edit your interest list.

http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=lemurs+in+the+rain will show you how many other people have listed "lemurs in the rain" as an interest.

Wet lemurs will rule the world.

... but wouldn't they smell funny?

Either they'd smell funny, or they'd smell clean. Don't know which. I guess it depends on how long they'd been in the rain :)

It would make sense to edit this post to change the reference in the URL from "talkpost" to "talkread"...

so that it becomes http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?itemid=21482442

and it takes people to the discussion.

You're right. This had been nagging me, but since no one had actually posted anything before today, I hadn't bothered to fix it. Stupid of me, as now the meme is split :)

Thanks!

It would be a good name for a band. Or a book, I guess - like the Madagascan version of Gorillas in the Mist.

After all, most lemurs live in the rain most of the time, being rain forest dwellers...

I realized shortly after posting that the random phrase wasn't quite as random as I'd originally thought, since lemurs in the rain is a sensical image. However, it was still something that no LJ user was interested in before me, so it works :)

I can hardly believe my laxity in not adding this to my initial interest list. This oversight has been corrected. Here's to a thriving community dedicated to moist primitive primates!

Now I now I must be tired...I read that as "...moist primitive privates!"

*shrug* :)

I found you in a random journal click thing (which I'm doing because I'm bored) and I'm taking up the cause too. :-) I think at least three more will join when they see it, my strange friends are like that. *nods*

Good idea though. :-)

You are so right. Wet Lemurs are cool.

I ran across Lemurs in the rain in a friends journal and automatically started the campaign to get my friends to add it before I found you!

gosh, that's spectacular...

you don't understand, i have a lemur obsession... and i think i can go and re-edit my interests and add it... i think i've written about my lemur obsession in my lj before... because my goal in life is to own a lemur and name it Lemar... but, if I can't do that, I at least want the femur of a lemur named Lemar... then I'd have Lemar the lemur's femur!!! okay, i'm just crazy...

will be adding in a moment!!!

We already tried this...

[livejournal.com profile] yoi will tell you about it. (The random interest was 'yoi'. Actually, nowadays that community just contains a load of random wibbling by bored people, like all old communities.)

So if there's any bored memers with another slot on their list, they could try 'yoi' too.
