Feb. 15th, 2003 09:58 pmShe's been kicking more and more lately. At first I only felt her when I was lying down, and I'd miss a few days here and there, which, of course, made me incredibly nervous about her well-being.
Now I feel her pretty much any time I'm sitting down and she happens to be awake, which means that I worry about her well-being after a few hours, rather than a few days. She's getting stronger, too - the kicks are getting more distinct.
When she kicks, I lose my fear of being a terrible parent, that I'll have no more feelings for her than I would for a bag of sugar you drag around for 7th grade sex ed class. She seems like more of a person now, with a personality, not just an idea. She kicks any time the laptop is resting on my belly, but refuses to kick when someone's hand is there. This proves, of course, that she's intelligent, delightful, and terribly contrary. Or a luddite, though that goes along with the contrary theory, given her parents.
She's kicking right now, in fact.
Friday is the next ultrasound! Which will hopefully prove she is really a she, so I don't have to go back through and change all these pronouns to avoid embarrasing him when he's old enough to read this.
