Oct. 17th, 2002 05:10 pmIt's strange, and sometimes vaguely frightening, how strongly a song can be tied to a certain place/time. The song I'm currently listening to has a cold, slightly depressed feeling attached to it that makes me feel like I'm sitting in the house I lived in two years ago in the middle of winter (Not that the song itself is depressing - rather the opposite, in fact). It doesn't just make me remember it - it makes me feel like I'm actually there. I can see my room and the overcast sky out the window, feel my bed under me, and smell/feel the slight stuffiness of the room, as it's been too cold to open the window for a while now.
That was a very painful year. I'm not sure why I'm feeling nostalgic about it, but the memory really isn't an unpleasant one.
I like this CD. I think I will get another by them.

I've seen Toad ten times live, and met them twice.
