I've now seen two people on my friends list mention trick-or-treating last night (Thursday). Is this some regional thing? I've occasionally heard of cities moving Halloween festivities to Friday or Saturday so they won't be on a school night, but beyond that, I've never heard of going door to door on a day other than Halloween!

Well, according to mayna, Columbus, OH used to throw a big party every Halloween, so they moved trick or treating till the day before Halloween so people wouldn't have to choose between them.
